{"id":9624,"date":"2018-12-20T11:19:05","date_gmt":"2018-12-20T11:19:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/personaje\/baldres-alfredo\/"},"modified":"2021-10-25T18:00:56","modified_gmt":"2021-10-25T18:00:56","slug":"baldres-alfredo","status":"publish","type":"personaje","link":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/baldres-alfredo\/","title":{"rendered":"Baldr\u00e9s, Alfredo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alfredo Baldr\u00e9s, born in X\u00e1tiva, Valencia, was one of the musicians who was present on Three Kings Day in 1923 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/lugar\/casa-acera-del-casino-31\/\">the Lorca&#8217;s house on the Acera del Casino<\/a> and who participated in the puppet play. The music for the entire program was performed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/falla-matheu-manuel-de\/\">Manuel de Falla<\/a> (piano and harpsichord), Jos\u00e9 G\u00f3mez (violin), Alfredo Baldr\u00e9s (clarinet) and Jos\u00e9 Molina (lute).<\/p>\n<p>He belonged to the circle of musicians and artists of Granada in the early twentieth century, which became especially important from 1921 when Manuel de Falla settled in the city. <strong>In 1923, he was a military musician specializing in clarinet<\/strong> in the &#8216;Cordoba 10&#8217; Regiment Band with its garrison in Granada.\u00a0 He did not join the municipal band until 1931, although he used to collaborate assiduously.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In 1954, when the amnesty law was applied, he rejoined the Granada Municipal Band and also worked as a teacher at the Victoria Eugenia Conservatory of Music.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Municipal Band, created in 1916, performed then in the Paseo del Sal\u00f3n, as well as in festivals and official events. Francisco Alonso, the composer of <em>Las Leandras farce<\/em>, a pupil of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/segura-mesa-antonio\/\">Antonio Segura Mesa<\/a>, Garc\u00eda Lorca&#8217;s solfeggio teacher, was one of its directors. Another of Antonio Segura&#8217;s disciples, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/barrios-fernandez-angel\/\">\u00c1ngel Barrios<\/a>, also used to collaborate. Manuel de Falla authorized an arrangement of the <em>Dance of the Fire<\/em> written by Jos\u00e9 Montero.<\/p>\n<p>In the Civil War he was one of those removed from the service through disciplinary proceedings, although he later joined the Falange. <strong>In 1938, he is director of the Blue Shirts Band.<\/strong> From that year onwards he resided in different capitals of Spain occupied by the rebels. In 1939, he moved to Valencia, where he conducted the Corbera del Turia Band.
