{"id":9569,"date":"2021-09-06T08:26:49","date_gmt":"2021-09-06T08:26:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/personaje\/barrios-tamayo-antonio-el-polinario\/"},"modified":"2021-09-06T08:50:30","modified_gmt":"2021-09-06T08:50:30","slug":"barrios-tamayo-antonio-el-polinario","status":"publish","type":"personaje","link":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/barrios-tamayo-antonio-el-polinario\/","title":{"rendered":"Barrios Tamayo, Antonio (El Polinario)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Guitarist, singer, art collector, amateur painter and owner of the tavern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/lugar\/taberna-el-polinario\/\">El Polinario<\/a> which, for several decades, was the meeting point of prestigious musicologists, composers and young creators who had swarmed the cultural taverns of Granada since the late nineteenth century. He was the father of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/barrios-fernandez-angel\/\">\u00c1ngel Barrios<\/a>, a composer and guitarist from Granada who achieved international fame and projection and who was a great friend of Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca and the rest of the friends of the circle of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/lugar\/el-rinconcillo\/\">El Rinconcillo<\/a>. El Polinario was one of the cultural and flamenco references of the city. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/falla-matheu-manuel-de\/\">Manuel de Falla<\/a> became a regular customer from the early 1920s, after arriving in Granada and before moving to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/lugar\/carmen-de-la-antequeruela\/\">Antequeruela House<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Guitarist, &#8216;singer&#8217; and painter, in his famous tavern were illustrious visitors friends of El Rinconcillo and Rusi\u00f1ol, Sorolla and Zuloaga.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He was a guitar player and singer, as well as a lover of painting and an amateur painter. Santiago Rusi\u00f1ol, Joaqu\u00edn Sorolla e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/zuloaga-zabaleta-ignacio\/\"> Ignacio Zuloaga<\/a> were illustrious visitors to his tavern full of paintings, and they would talk about painting with him. In its gardens, in 1918, <em>The Story of the Treasure<\/em> was staged, a kind of photonovel in four scenes in which Lorca, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/angeles-ortiz-manuel\/\">Manuel \u00c1ngeles Ortiz<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/pizarro-zambrano-miguel\/\">Miguel Pizarro<\/a> took part. Antonio Barrios was also a painter and used the boards of the cigar boxes to make his sketches.
