Merchant, without university studies, first-born of a conservative family formed by seven other siblings: Esperanza (1906-1998), Antonio (1908-1958), Luis<\/a> (1910-1998), Jos\u00e9<\/a> (1911-1978) Carlos (1912-1914), Gerardo (1915-1968) and Mar\u00eda (1916-2005). Their father was Miguel Rosales Vallecillos, an industrialist who owned a family haberdashery, Almacenes La Esperanza, located in the Arco de las Cucharas, next to the Bib-Rambla Square; their mother was Esperanza Camacho Corona.<\/p>\n

Miguel and his brother Antonio were upset by Lorca’s presence in their home. Specifically, Miguel was accused in a book by one of his nephews of being opposed to welcoming the poet.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He was flag leader of the Falange of Granada in the tumultuous days of the beginning of the Civil War and is blamed for some “quite violent” actions. Before joining Jos\u00e9 Antonio’s party he was a monarchist sympathizer.<\/p>\n

According to his testimony, on August 16, the day of Lorca’s arrest, he was in the San Jer\u00f3nimo barracks, “rehearsing the handling of weapons to a group of volunteers”, when Ram\u00f3n Ruiz Alonso<\/a> arrived and told him: “I know that you have Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca in your house and I have an arrest warrant to take him to the Gobierno Civil<\/a>. I didn’t want to go to your house without telling you and, therefore, come with me.”<\/p>\n

When they arrived, Miguel Rosales recalls that “the whole building was surrounded by Assault and Militia guards. Ram\u00f3n Ruiz Alonso was wearing an overall with Falange party badges on it”. Miguel and his brother Antonio were upset by Lorca’s presence in their house<\/a>. Specifically, Miguel was accused in a book by one of his nephews, the painter Gerardo Rosales, of being opposed to welcoming the poet. Other versions place this responsibility on his brother Antonio.<\/p>\n

He died on November 21, 1976.<\/p>\n
