{"id":7848,"date":"2021-08-10T07:54:25","date_gmt":"2021-08-10T07:54:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/obra-literaria\/the-pilgrimage-of-the-cuckolds\/"},"modified":"2021-10-21T09:03:50","modified_gmt":"2021-10-21T09:03:50","slug":"the-pilgrimage-of-the-cuckolds","status":"publish","type":"obra_literaria","link":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/obra-literaria\/the-pilgrimage-of-the-cuckolds\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pilgrimage of the Cuckolds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>La romer\u00eda de los cornudos (The Pilgrimage of the Cuckolds)<\/em> is a ballet in one act, barely twenty minutes long, composed by the musician of the Generation of the Republic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/pittaluga-gonzalez-del-campillo-gustavo\/\">Gustavo Pittaluga<\/a> (Madrid, 1906-Madrid 1975) with verbal argument of Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/rivas-de-cherif-cipriano\/\">Cipriano Rivas Cherif<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The composition happens to be one of the historical references of Spanish dance whose score contains Falla\u2019s &#8216;<em>Master Peter\u2019s Puppet Show\u2019<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the midst of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/lugar\/santuario-del-cristo-de-pano-de-moclin\/\">pilgrimage of the Cristo del Pa\u00f1o of Mocl\u00edn<\/a>, Sacrist\u00e1n, the protagonist, tries to seduce Sierra, a married woman who has come to the chapel accompanied by her husband, called Chivato, to implore the wonder of her fertility.
