The University of Granada, through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/gallego-burin-antonio\/\">Antonio Gallego Bur\u00edn<\/a>, then dean of the Faculty of Letters, offered to publish it. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/garcia-gomez-emilio\/\">Emilio Garc\u00eda G\u00f3mez<\/a> undertook to prepare the collection and the prolog. The book reached the proofreading stage but was never published, possibly because of the Civil War. The manuscript and proofs were rescued by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/garcia-lorca-concha\/\">Concha Garc\u00eda Lorca<\/a> and the book was first published in the New York <em>Revista Hisp\u00e1nica Moderna<\/em> (year VI, issues 3 and 4, July-October 1940), prepared by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/personaje\/garcia-lorca-francisco\/\">Francisco Garc\u00eda Lorca<\/a> and \u00c1ngel del R\u00edo.<\/p>\n<p>Guillermo de Torre had made a partial edition of the book with poems from those published by the author in magazines (<em>Complete Works<\/em>, Losada, 1938). To follow would be the editions of Arturo del Hoyo (in Aguilar, 1954), Mario Hern\u00e1ndez (Alianza, 1981) or Andrew A. Anderson (Espasa-Calpe, 1988).<\/p>\n<p>Some poems remained unpublished during the author&#8217;s lifetime, but quite a few were made known in magazines of the time: <em>Quaderns de Poes\u00eda<\/em> (Barcelona), <em>Hero<\/em> (Madrid), <em>Foret of prose and verse<\/em> (Madrid), <em>Literary almanaque<\/em> (Madrid), etc. Even the <em>Casida: The Weeping<\/em> was published in Gerardo Diego&#8217;s <em>Anthology<\/em>, in 1934.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-7278","estreno_obra_literar","type-estreno_obra_literar","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/estreno_obra_literar\/7278"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/estreno_obra_literar"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/estreno_obra_literar"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.universolorca.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=7278"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
