Federico, saint and signs. Lorca’s houses in la Vega in Granada.
Curator, Alejandro V. García
Assembley, Alejandro Gorafe
Federico García Lorca stayed for short periods in Granada in two distinct but complementary areas: the rural environment of the Vega, which encompasses his birthplace of Fuente Vaqueros, the farmhouse of Valderrubio and the Huerta de San Vicente itself, and extends to the farmhouses of Daimuz and La Gariba, the springs of La Carrura and La Teja, the banks of the Cubillas and Genil and the vega of Zujaira; and the urban environment comprising the three houses that the family lived between 1908 and 1933, the year in which his parents left Granada and followed their children to Madrid.
The exhibition is divided into two venues that are very close to one another. The Granero room in the Birthplace and House-Museum of Federico García Lorca in Fuente Vaqueros contains the part related to the houses of la Vega, and the Lorca Study Center, also in Fuente Vaqueros, and that of the houses of the capital city, Granada.
